QUALITY SERVICES
ISO Consulting and Training
Quality standards developed by the International Organization for
Standardization (ISO) are the benchmarks for good business practices
throughout the world. Companies registered to one or more of these
standards increase their opportunities for business at home and
abroad. When you’re ready to initiate or upgrade a quality
registration program, MCC Business & Learning Solutions can help you
develop a system, attain ISO registration and train employees. We
also provide internal auditing services to help you maintain your
certification and strengthen your quality management system.
Additionally, MCC Business & Learning Solutions has an Electronic Quality Management System
(eQMS) software program that can be customized for your company’s
specific business requirements. MCC’s first-hand experience with the
rigorous process of ISO certification – with MCC-BTC having been one
of the first community college divisions in the U.S. to achieve ISO
9001:2000 certification – makes Business & Learning Solutions
uniquely equipped to help your team navigate and master the process.
ISO Overview for Executives and Employees
The best start to the ISO implementation process is for everyone in
the organization – executive staff and front-line employees alike –
to understand the basics of ISO and what it means for those impacted.
The overview is tailored to the audience to ensure that every person
is aware of the requirements and knows what role he or she will play
in the implementation of the system, as well as its maintenance.
Internal Auditor Training
Highly interactive seminar for new internal auditors who will be required
to conduct an audit. The seminar highlights the challenges in planning
and conducting an integrated audit. Through examples, discussions, and
role plays, the participants will learn how to plan, conduct, and report
an integrated audit against the ISO standard. Internal Auditing course
is available for each of the following standards; ISO 9001:2008,
ISO 14001, TS16949. Others available upon request and course length
varies for standard covered.
QMS Pre-Certification Audit
Prior to an ISO certification audit (usually about 60 days before the
audit), our consultants can conduct a full system audit comparing the
organization’s quality management system to the standard. The result
is a report provided to the organization’s management team indicating
areas in which acceptance, non-conformance, and possible areas of
improvement exist against the particular standard, thus enabling the
organization to make improvements leading to a successful certification
audit.
Root Cause Analysis
Improvement teams often focus on the easy
fixes to problems and do not get to the actual root causes. This workshop
teaches specific cause analysis tools to consistently uncover the true
root causes of the issue or issues being analyzed.
Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Designed for people who are
new to statistics and SPC, and those who need to learn to use control
charts and other SPC techniques for maintaining process control. It

Lean Enterprises Six Sigma Green Belt Workshop
A training program presented in five one day modules, one module for
each of the Six Sigma “roadmap” steps: define, measure, analyze,
improve, control. It provides both instruction and hands-on training,
as attendees are required to complete a project during the program.
5S Overview
A low-cost simple system that supports the implementation of Lean
Manufacturing. 5s can be used from the front office to production work
stations. It improves efficiency and employee morale without incurring
significant expense.
Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
Designed for
people who will be implementing a Total Productive Maintenance program.
The journey from a reactive to a true TPM system is long and full of
challenges. This workshop teaches a team the critical skills, tools and
processes needed to make the change to a TPM environment.
Visual Factory
Improves the first-time-through
quality of your products or services by creating an environment that
prevents most errors and defects before they occur and also detects the
errors and defects that do occur and enables rapid response and
correction.
Standard Operations
When you apply all the
knowledge of lean principles to a particular work process to make it
as efficient as possible, standard operations result. Employees then
use this documented process as a guide to consistently apply the tasks
they must perform in that work process. The standard operations
guidelines also serve as the basis for all the organization’s training,
performance-monitoring, and continuous improvement activities.
Process and Value Stream mapping
Process mapping enables employees to visually see their process and
better understand the inputs and outputs of the process. Value stream
mapping is the first step your company should take in creating an
overall lean-initiative plan; developing a visual map of the value
stream allows everyone to fully understand and agree on how value is
produced and where waste occurs.
Pre-Lean Readiness
Successful movement toward becoming a lean organization assumes that an
organization has successfully implemented basic good business practices
and that a good foundation is in place to drive critical improvements in
the organization. This session will help the leadership team assess the
organization’s readiness to go lean, allowing the leadership then to
better decide what foundational gaps need to be filled in order to
successfully support future lean initiatives. BLS consultants can then
help create a specific game plan to get your organization more firmly on
the road to being lean.
