Margaret Boyd
Director of Workforce Development - Service Delivery

Margaret Boyd is director of workforce development for MCC Business & Learning Solutions, a division of Metropolitan Community College that provides a wide variety of training, development and consulting services to business and industry in and around metropolitan Kansas City.

Margaret joined MCC in 2000 as director of the Program for Adult College Education (PACE) at MCC-Longview. In 2001, she moved to MCC-Business & Technology and became associate director for training and development, then in 2003 became dean of instruction and student services, a position she held until taking on her current role with Business & Learning Solutions in 2007. Prior to MCC, Margaret worked at Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas, where she served as Arkansas County off-campus coordinator, then vice chancellor for Arkansas County and executive vice president. She also worked for the Stuttgart (Ark.) School District as a licensed school counselor.

Margaret holds a bachelor of science in education, a vocational certification, and a certification to teach science from the University of Arkansas. She also holds a master’s degree in psychology/counseling from the University of Central Arkansas.

Margaret’s educational leadership experience is vast and varied. While at Phillips Community College, she led a community task force that established funding for building and maintaining a new campus, then participated in the campus’ successful merger with the University of Arkansas. Since joining MCC, she has participated in a number of campus and district initiatives, including working with local high schools to establish a regional CISCO academy and serving on the team that developed a Department of Labor grant to train entry level manufacturing employees, with responsibility for hiring faculty and collaboratively developing curriculum. She also served on the campus leadership team that managed the transition of the Business Technology Center from a business-training focused institution to a community college campus (MCC-Business & Technology).

Juan Rangel
Director of Workforce Development - Sales

Juan Rangel is director of workforce development for MCC Business & Learning Solutions, a division of Metropolitan Community College that provides a wide variety of training, development and consulting services to business and industry in and around metropolitan Kansas City.

Juan joined Metropolitan Community College in 2006 as director of business development for the district, then moved into his current role in 2007. Before joining MCC, he worked for 12 years for the National Conference for Community and Justice in various roles, including executive director. Prior to NCCJ, he worked for the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) National Education Service Center and for the NAACP.

Juan earned bachelor of science degrees in international business, marketing, and Spanish from Northwest Missouri State University and a master’s degree in urban education from Kansas State University.

Juan is a known local and regional public speaker and he has developed and delivered motivational programs and specialized trainings for a number of area organizations. He currently serves on the boards of the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority, Truman Medical Centers and the UMKC Women’s Center. He has also served on the Board of Regents at Northwest Missouri State University and the Boards of Directors for the Midwest Center for Holocaust Education, the Kauffman Fund, Synergy, and Children’s Mercy Hospital.

Stan Fields
Director of Business Development

Stan Fields is director of business development for MCC Business & Learning Solutions, a division of Metropolitan Community College that provides a wide variety of training, development and consulting services to business and industry in and around metropolitan Kansas City.

Stan has been with Metropolitan Community College since 1992, when he began as a lab technician and acting coordinator of the Technical & Skilled Trades department at the Maple Woods campus. In 1995, he moved to the Business & Technology campus as a program manager and team leader responsible for business development, and was promoted to his current role with Business & Learning Solutions in 2007. Prior to joining MCC, Stan was owner and sales manager of Sunny Cal Alegre Distributors. He also toured for 15 years with ButlerFields, a rock-n-roll band that he co-founded and that opened for the likes of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Bo Diddley.

Stan started his college education at MCC-Maple Woods before transferring to Park University, where he graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science in management and communications. He then went on to earn a master’s degree from Central Missouri State University (now University of Central Missouri).

John Littleton
Manager of Performance Consultants

John Littleton is the performance consultant manager for MCC Business & Learning Solutions, a division of Metropolitan Community College that provides a wide variety of training, development and consulting services to business and industry in and around metropolitan Kansas City.

John came to MCC in 2006 after nearly 15 years with a local manufacturing company where he was Lead Internal Auditor performing audits to the ISO standard, and manufacturing manager in charge of mechanical, electronic and nuclear switch assembly areas. He was also an integral part of the quality review board finding ways to continually improve processes and procedures.

John has over 15 years of manufacturing experience in the fields of training, production management and materials management. As a Lead Internal Auditor, he has audited various organizations for ISO compliance, and he has also consulted on or has been directly involved in the complete implementation process of ISO 9001:2000. John has designed and developed on-the-job training programs and quality programs, implemented cellular manufacturing techniques in traditional and nuclear assembly settings, and educated employees in many tools for quality to include SPC, Root Cause, as well as Lean Enterprises.
He has quality systems experience in implementing and maintaining CE, UL, and CSA requirements.

John holds a bachelor of science in business management from Northwest Missouri State University. He is certified in ISO 14001:2004 and ISO 9001:2000, as well as TS 16949. He has received training in internal auditing from CSA and QAI for several ISO standards. John is a member of the Kansas City chapter of the American Society of Quality and a past member of the Association for Operations Management.

Mark Burns
Director of Finance and Business Services

Mark Burns is director of finance and business services for MCC Business & Learning Solutions, a division of Metropolitan Community College that provides a wide variety of training, development and consulting services to business and industry in and around metropolitan Kansas City.

Mark has been with Metropolitan Community College since 1997, when he joined the Business & Technology campus as director of finance and business services. He now serves in that same role for the Business & Learning Solutions division. Before joining MCC, Mark worked for 15 years as a store manager for Kay Bee Toy & Hobby, and before that, as an instructor at North Central Area Vocational-Technical School.

Mark holds a bachelor’s degree in distributive education/marketing from Central Missouri State University (now University of Central Missouri).
